Some features I'd like to see

Here are some things i hope the developers would one day consider adding as I'm not sure if they could be modded in. Most of these features are related mainly to MP which for me is BA's strongest side
- The ability to drop paratroops behind the front, (would really add another dimension to offensives but might not work on some of the small maps)
- The ability to deploy your forces
- The ability to purchase your forces or at least add a few units to the existing force
- Different kinds of objective flags (flags that determine the winner based on who holds them for longest not just on the last turn).
- Reinforcements for combat units, eg troops !
- Command units (a bonus but also a liability)
Regards :D

Agreed - especially with #2, 3 and 4!!! I don't mind using the same forces but it lacks depth!

As for reinforcements..you have medic for your troops. River of blood actually has reinforcements built in (it's one of the best maps as there is a degree of uncertainty as to what will make it through the onslaught before your tanks roll on the scene!)

Reverse would be my first choice. You can't back up ... if you run into trouble with a tank and want to back out of it, you have to present your rear end to the enemy

Medics should be a part of every scenario with foot soldiers except maybe a scouting mission. (maybe ... but I could argue a medic should be on every mission)

I would have added reverse to the list but i heard they were working on it :D .
The other features I mentioned are just to add some variety to the standard MP missions which are great, but feature the same force and set up everytime. I came to this game from a background of playing MP Steel Panthers which is very similar but has all these features and a battle generator to boot. Of course that game is getting pretty old now and lacks the number of players, as well as the excellent PBEM server system that Battlefield Academy has.

If the scenarios are getting an update, I'd like to see all scenarios with infantry, MG, Mortar, and any human elements have Medics. I know some scenarios should have more limitation on medical care but scenario's with no medics seems a little unrealistic. You can manage the level of medical care available by varying the regeneration time (i.e., 2 to 4 or 5 turns). In some sce's, if you lose All your foot soldiers you're doomed. ... the exception might be long recon missions or kessels but even they have some first aid available

An interesting way to have medical care could be introducing Aid Stations ...

These would be buildings (tents) setup by using a new "truck" called a supply/medic constructor vehicle. Since PIP is working on Dynamic objects we could "drop" or "build" these temporary aid/supply stations. At this point, the aid station would act like a reinforcement point.

An example ... When one of your soldiers is killed, it would roll a chance for survival, and then if it survives it will be added to the aid station. When the aid station has accumulated 5 men, it will spawn a new unit.

You know, for a mod, the concept is possible now. Anything is possible with the open end code they provided.

Changes,,,updates,mods?? Oh YES!!

How about a dynamic and persistent campaign. Maybe one large map where you choose where to go and take troops into each battle. Units that are not destroyed can be brought into next battle. Build some veterancy and other persistent unit traits.

The next update includes the ability to built carryover campaigns, where you can decide to carryover units (for either side) from any prior mission should you desire. This is supported in both the editor and in scripting. Markey Garden makes use of this new feature - the setting makes it almost a requirement :).
