Mounted Samurai start out as Armoured cavalry bow, swordsmen, then become Armoured Cavalry Light Lancers, swordsmen from 1530.

Foot samurai are heavily armoured or armoured Warriors, Spearmen.

Ashigaru with yari are armoured or unarmoured Warriors, Spearmen (Medium Foot from 1592).

Ashigaru with yumi are armoured Warriors, Bow (Medium foot from 1592)

Ashigaru with teppo are only available from 1543, then gradually increase in numbers, and are armoured Warriors, Arquebus. (Medium foot from 1592)

Are they to be LF until 1592 then ?

Armoured LF until 1574 (but only 6 bases)

Armoured Warriors from 1575-1591 (up to 16)

Armoured MF from 1592 (lots)

There are, of course, various optional troops, but you will have to wait for the book to see those.

Cant wait, but the Ashigaru Teppo will keep me occupied until then.

The Book's out now!! I got my copy of "Colonies and Conquest" from Caliver yesterday! Just need a few more arquebus (or Teppo!) Ashigaru to field a later Samurai!
