Question about a mod

I've created a scenario/mod. It's all finished. It's based on the 1500BC scenario from GoT.

But the zipfile of it is 22 megs, because of the 46-meg mapimage.cmf file.

I'd love to share it with the world, but I doubt many people are going to want to d/l a 22M file to try it out.

Is there any way around this?

I have not modified the mapimage.cmf file in any way. Does it need to be there?

Huh

After I posted this, I thought, "Possum, you dipwick, go test it yourself and find out!"

I moved the mapimage.cmf file to a backup directory, and the mod still seems to load and play fine.

The full path to the "Crete" mod directory is -

C:\Matrix Games\Gates Of Troy\Mod\Crete\data\maps\GCBasic

But apparently the game is finding the mapimage.cmf file in -

C:\Matrix Games\Gates Of Troy\data\maps\GCBasic

This is really very good news, and bespeaks some very good design work on the part of Slitherine. Grats on good work, guys :)

The MOD only requires the files you have changed to be in it. As long as you mirror the directory structure in teh game it will find all teh files that are teh same from the game data dir & just use the ones you have altered in your Mod. YOu should be able to get it down to a few hundred k :)
