my user name is tlsjr117 and I have a friend who joined us on BA his user name is hetzer his email address is astrostar@comcast.net


he and I are trying to get him logged in and it is not working. he has requested a password change but he is not getting the email... so we think we may have an error in his profile for email address.

because he cannot get logged into forum, he cannot post a thread to request help. so if someone could email him and help us get this streight.

Please help us.... we really want to play this great game head to head.

If he purchased the game by download he entered an email address. Did he receive a confirmation email?

Has he registered at the website?

he registered back in august and we actually played 1 game... of multilayer... but he had a system crash he says and had to reload windows. ever since hasn't been able to log into website or multi player..


he has tried to send himself an email password reset, but he doesn't receive the emails ( guessing he has email address error in his profile )

I am coordinating with him on this since he cannot get logged into forum to respond.

he has all his emails from the download purchase from matrix games with his SN# and such.

If he bought it from Matrix and received the emails from Matrix that does not (as far as I know) register him here.

Since you were able to play once, then the HD problem, I suspect he has different security settings now than he did then. Most like the firewall is not allowing him to connect to the server.

Did he possibly have another email address that he might have used here that is different than the one he is using now?

yea we explored all of those options earlier ourselves, i even had him check his spam folder in email to see what could be going on there.

the thing that is throwing me off from a troubleshooting standpoint is the fact that i found him in the forums member list and his join date is the right date. so we know his user name. hetzer but cant get the password to work.

one other thing i noticed is his username on forum is lowercase, but in the game multi player login doesn't appear to be case sensitive.

is there a way he can login to the forum as a guest so he can talk to you directly? i know you cant just reset hetzers forum login with out him giving you his SN# or some other kind of info.

im on phone with him now. he says could you just delete his account he could re register.

the real problem is he cannot login to forum to get this addressed himself.

he is reading these posts as a guest right now.

well kind of figured that could be the case...

is there an email address hetzer can send an email too? since he cant log into the forum.

I also notice you cant make a second forum login using the same an email address thats already active... which makes me think that hetzers email address is good

Maybe something will pop into his head later today. It may be something simple with the password. I still suspect a firewall or antivirus setting.

cool i managed to create a username helphetzer using my wifes email address and it worked. i gave the password to hetzer so he can use that to login

and respond.


also point out that his email is in slitherines system since it wont allow more then 1 username per email.

Hi this is hetzer, I have checked my firewall settings and BA is allowed. I never recieved an email after registering but was able to play multiplayer until I reloaded windows and redownloaded BA. Since then it says that my user name or password does not match my serial number. If there is anyway you guys can delete my registration then I could reregister?? or reset my email or password?? I bought this game to play multiplayer and hve not been able to play even one whole game...

Please help...

A serial can only be regsitered to one account and never transferred - this is part of the copy protection system. You must use the account you registered the serial to to play multiplayer.

It sounds like you just need to reset the password on your account. If you are not sure what to do - mail info@slitherine.co.uk from the e-mail account you normally use and what you think your username is and we'll look it up. Also tell us what password you would like and describe the general problem you are having.

His problem there is that when he enters his email into the reset password he doesnt get an email with the password reset...


SO I will make sure he gets this post and emails you.

So a little history

John (Hetzer) and I have played PBEM Steel panthers for decades now....


when i stumbled onto this game through Matrix games i was hooked bigtime...

Hetzer got setup sometime after that and we played a few turns of MP ( i have email logs on 9/1/10) and then his PC crashed, and he had to reload.

after that his game single player would work and he had bad customer service from matrix ( due to the fact they dont really respond to their forum)

we gave up for quite a few months. i haven't played much ether.


Now we really really want to play again. plus with new blitzkrige expansion we could play with more WWII goodness.

here is some of the troubleshooting i attempted to help him, and my conclusions.

he could not log in and when he tried to reset his password he doesnt get an email from slitherine.

I tested it by reseting my password for tllsjr117 and it worked. (so i know the email password reset works)

next he tried to create a new forum account using the email he used for BA and it gave him an error.

I did the same and got the same error ( note when i first bought BA i couldnt figure out how to get into MP, again this was confusion on matrix games website and the fact that your MP user name is the same as you slitherine forum username)

I also tried creating a new forum user (helphetzer) using my wifes email which is not registered with slitherine, and that worked. ( this tells me that hetzer email address is in the slitherine database or else he could use it to create a username account on the slitherine forum)

so he may have an issue with his email from slitherine. if he is not receiving automated email password resets.

he ( as helphetzer) and I are watching this thread so if he cannot get an email from you ( for what ever reason) hopefully you will post here and we can find another way to get him reset.

he has his serial # and other info to validate his game he bought through Matrix game.

please help us... I have to stop the NAZIS.. ( he is the Nazis)

Is his email through his ISP or something like hotmail or google?

good idea Ill ask...

my Hotmail has slitherine listed... but not sure how comcast handles it.
