Hi

Just checking on the overlap rules for heavy weapons swordsmen etc...

Does the ++ for overlap apply to whole BG ?
As in for my english bill - if one overlaps a lansnecht keil does that mean the whole
BG - not just the stainnd next to the overlap gets the ++POA ?
Also this does apply to
a. keils
b. tercios

Sorry to labour this but i can see this coming up again in future games

Steve

Just the overlap, I am sure. EG. you have 4 bases of HW facing 2 base frontage of enemy, the two outer bases of HW count as overlap and get the ++ (providing that they overlap on either side of the melee)

1 dice per overlapping file at ++. The rest of the BG fight at their normal factor.

How do the HW in a mixed Pike/Shot formation (ie 4 shotte in two wings of 2, 8 Pike in 2 files of 4 and 2 lurking HW chaps) expand out?

Does this potentially create an illegal formation ? as there could be one file of one rank of HW, 2x2 of Shotte and 2x4 of Pike (of which one might then be 5 deep with the extra HW guy?)

It is possible that it is implicit that such a formation is considered "legal" - need to have a think about it and whether a FAQ entry to clarify would, therefore, be useful.

"It is possible that it is implicit that ..."

Absolutely !

I think that's all I need to know to be convinced that this is a totally different* set of rules (and players*) to the turgid FoG:AM group !
