Italian translation test

I will restart all the campaigns to try if you've studied good italian  ( regarding this, be patient for my english, but I used to read it and not write...). I write this post to put in evidence some
... mhh not good translation in the initial screen of the tutorial campaign. If you agree I will post every time the screenshot to be more clear ok? In this one there are two things which are not completely correct:

On the top left, I think the word "forza" is not completely correct, it's the literal traduction, but it's better using the word " unità " (units).
On the right, the word "valutazione" it's wrong at all, the correct phrase would be: Valore di attacco ad azione perforante:xx , valore di attacco ad azione esplosiva:xx , valore di difesa/corazza
or if you would be more brief : attacco ad azione perforante:xx , attacco ad azione esplosiva:xx , difesa/corazza
That's the image:

Thanks Gatto - this is very useful.

You can keep reporting these issues or if you would like to read through the game text and check for errors it can all be found in the following places.

General Game Text
Install Folder\Data\Text\ITA_text1.text, ITA_text2.txt and ITA_text3.txt

Campaign text
Install Folder\Campaigns\Campaign_Name\ITA_text1.txt
Install Folder\Multiplayer\Campaign_Name\ITA_text1.txt

Feel free to edit these files and when you are finished send them back to us to check and integrate in to the game. After your changes check they work in game and still fit on screen etc. If you have any problems let us know.

If anyone wants to do this in other languages please do so.

Ok I'll edit the language files and give you explanation by these images! Let's go on:
Image

Phrase "valutazione di copertura" changed in "valore di copertura" it's more correct

Image

To indicate streets not made with asphalt it's better using the word "sterrato"

Image

In this context is more correct saying" Pa insufficienti per arrivare qui in un turno"

Image

In the losses screen changed the singulard words "mezzo corrazzato" and "semicingolato" in plural

Image

"punti di vittoria" it's not grammatically correct, changed in "punti vittoria", this phrase changed everywhere in the desert scenario text file.

To indicate the type of terrain I think it's better using singular, so I changed every terrain type into singular
Image

And now some screens where something's still in english: BUT I CAN'T FIND THESE IN THE CONFIG FILES YOU TOLDE ME, WHERE ARE TO CHANGE??
Image

Image

Image

And this one is a bad translation for line of sight, it's better "nessuna visuale sul bersaglio" SORRY IN THE FIGURE BELOW I WROTE INCORRECTLY!!

Now I'll go editing the config files, bye!

Hi to all (ciao Gatto! ;))...
I agree with Gatto and is proposed translation, but i have only a doubt... it is correct to translate "mezzi corazzati" for armoured ones, so why not "mezzi ruotati" for wheeled? Is the same concept...
Keep the good work, i try to make out a little bit too...

P.S. I forgot... why not to change "probabilità globale di eliminazione" to "probabilità totale di eliminazione"? I think it will be more grammatically correct...

Ciao!

Yes there are some translations which I'm thinkin' on because they sounds " bad " (in the example you mentioned perhaps it's better writing "probabilità di eliminazione" without "totale" ), but I'm not sure yet, I'm waitin right ispiration
Bye and ... ciao Elric !

Some other translations:
Image

We don't say "testa di sbarco" but "testa di ponte", and we are near it so we may say "presso" not back "dietro"
Image

And theese dots .... You can omit them in my opinion

Some notes from our friend Elric, I've translated his suggestion:

Good introduction the reverse option !! but it's not been translated ! I can't find this word in the text conf file you told me, good translation could be " retromarcia "
Image

For theese I haven't a figure yet, but you've translated " routed " with " dispersa ", it's better " in rotta! " and when a shot bounces an armor you wrote " deviazione ", perhaps it's better " deviato "

And then a discrepancy between the selection unit screen and the game in the desert campaign, this also in the english version : "fanteria 8 armata" become in game "fanteria desert rats" could be ok, but could also be translated with " fanteria topi del deserto " which was well known by our soldiers during the war... , and also "universal carrier" which became in the game " trasporto bren ". In my opinion the first could remain "fanteria 8 armata" in the init. screen and also in game, the second for me it's ok.

For any text that is not trasnalted just make us aware and we will fix it as it requires code changes as well as text changes. If you stick to editing the ITA_txt files that is great!

Some other proposal...
Desert campaign
In the desert campaign, mission 2, the in game objectives says: perdi menu di 5 unità (lose less than 5 units): the correct phrase is "perdi meno di 5 unità
The siege: "i nuovi arrivati Afrikakorps" (new arrived Afrikakorps): better "il nuovo arrivato Afrikakorps
Sandstorm melee: better "mischia (more accurate for melee) nella tempesta"
Geniere Afrikakorps (engineer), better use the plural "genieri"

Campaign main menu
Blitzkrieg campaign menu: in italian we say "la guerra" (the war, or "der krieg") so the translation would be "la blitzkrieg tedesca"
Assegnamenti (assignements): more correct to translate with "missioni" (missions)

General orders:
Unit mounted: "sali a bordo"... it is correct but in italian this indicates a command to execute (mount up!); for units already mounted we can say "imbarcata"
Bogged: "impantanata", this term indicates precisely a vehicle stuck in mud... so in the desert dunes is impossible to be "impantanati"; i suggest "immobilizzata" (immobilized)

I am uncertain with two terms... the "hunting movement" and the "friendly" entry in the losses menu... any suggestion cat (gatto!) 8)

1) Ok, "perdi menu di 5 unità" corrected in "perdi meno di 5 unità"
2) The siege etc etc, for me it's correct as it is: "L'avanzata dei nuovi arrivati dell' Afrika Korps " is this the case you're referring to?
Image

3) Sandstorm melee, yep ! right traduction is :" mischia nella tempesta", corrected !
4) "Geniere Afrikakorps" , you are right Elric but every unit is named in singular:

IDS_UNITNAME61,"Ranger statunitense",
IDS_UNITNAME62,"Paracadutista britannico",
IDS_UNITNAME63,"Geniere Afrika Korps",
IDS_UNITNAME64,"Paracadutista tedesco",
IDS_UNITNAME65,"Waffen SS",
IDS_UNITNAME66,"Fanteria italiana",
IDS_UNITNAME67,"Aviotrasportata statunitense",
IDS_UNITNAME68,"Geniere britannico",
IDS_UNITNAME69,"Geniere statunitense",
IDS_UNITNAME70,"Volksgrenadier",
IDS_UNITNAME71,"Geniere Desert Rats",
IDS_UNITNAME72,"Lanciafiamme statunitense",
IDS_UNITNAME73,"Lanciafiamme tedesco",
IDS_UNITNAME74,"Lanciafiamme britannico",
IDS_UNITNAME75,"Panzerschreck",
IDS_UNITNAME76,"Bazooka statunitense",
IDS_UNITNAME77,"Geniere tedesco",
IDS_UNITNAME78,"Bren Desert Rats",
IDS_UNITNAME79,"PIAT",

So I don't know if it's a "name convention" slitherine team decided or if we must rename all units in plural!

5) Campaigns main menu ... are you referring to this? If so I agree with assignements = "missioni", but for the blitzkrieg I think is better what I wrote in the image , or not?
Image

6) "sali a bordo" corrected in " imbarcata "
7) "bogged" yes, it sounds better "immobilizzata"

"hunting movement" translated in "caccia" (as the figure below, if you're referring to this) it's horrible, but actually I have no ideas ... perhaps "muovi furtivo"--> "stealth movement" ? , friendly and enemys ... mhh the translation cannot be made in another way, perhaps it could be "axis" and " allies" ---> "asse" and "alleati" but also in this case I think it's a name convention, let's decide to slitherine's guys what to do, we do not must make all the work for them ya?

Ok I'll continue marking every text not translated, and I 'don't know the meaning of "if you stick to editing" , but until now I edited the ITA_txt files with the suggestions posted here! I cannot test the blitzkrieg campaign because I haven't it, but I'm testing all others with files revisioned!

Ciao Gatto!
1) "Nuovi arrivati dell'Afrika Korps" seems for me as "rookies of Afrika Korps"... with my proposal i intended to highlight tha the Afrika Korps is newly arrived, but without the negative meaning that "nuovo arrivato od ultimo arrivato" has in italian
2) Geniere - genieri: when you select the unit you see that there are a bounch of men... not only one... is a problem only with the italian name, but i agree: let the slitherine team decide
3) The "blitzkrieg" i refer is in the description of the introductory comic of the campaign... but yes i agree also with "Blitzkrieg in Francia". However this will cause Slitherine to change the name of one of their product, so i suggest, let them decide...
4) "Caccia" really don't make it well... what for "pattuglia" (patrol) or "movimento cauto" (cautios movement)? Its quite a periphrasis but i don't recall an equivalent for hunting...
5) "Friendly": "proprie truppe" (own troops?)

As an old tv spot said: two is meglio che one!
Buona serata!

"Stick to editing" means you only edit text that is already there and make us aware of any text that is not translated :)
