dear all, I'm wondering how is the best gauls producer to join my syracusan army (made by essex and donnington).
I'm undecided between:
- donnington (it's great the possibility to choose one soldier of each type)
- corvus belli
- oldglory 15s
- ...

what do you suggest me?
thanks

I recommend you the ones made by Corvus Belli. They fit perfectly with Essex. In fact, I would mix one bag of Esex with the Corvus belli ones so that you have a wider variety of miniatures and full visual compatibility with Essex. Corvus Belli's miniatures have their shields detached and several options so that you can "simulate" more variants for the Gauls. I will try to post a picture of how these mix. In my case I have added Old Glory ones too.

Essex and Corvus Belli mix together well. You can see some here: http://blog.belisarius.org.uk/2011/02/1 ... -dbmm.html

I've not tried mixing OG as I tend to find them bigger but then my only experience is with their C18th range.

Donnington I actually like. Bare metal they look a little plain but they paint up really well. I used them for my Celtiberians: http://blog.belisarius.org.uk/2009/10/1 ... wagon.html

Hope that helps you decide.

Cheers

Get xyston gauls for an essex syracusans. The size difference will make them gods among men - adn the figs are well scultped and proportioned (compared to essex dwarfism and corvus belli teenagers)
