Comments on Deployment and Just Most Anything LT

I have played several games of LT now and am enjoying the armies. The Roman armies in particular are a real challenge. Gone are the days of the invincible infantry. They take some real thinking in order to win with.

The Jewish Revolt army craves close terrain. Not a good army in the open. Had my head handed to me for trying to fight it against a cav army in the open.

Request: I really wish that the deployment was done from a Army menu where you could pick the unit you want to deploy from a "unit palette" and then the quantity would be reduced by one. Instead of them being spread all across the map that is. Really gets old having to zoom out and then move the units from one end of the map to the center, other flank, etc.

Please consider this ... would really speed things up. A floating palette would be nice.

I have the miniature rules and this companion book. So far the units look very similar. I have yet to see anything in error from the graphics side of things. Glad the others have sharper eyes.

Even if I get to do this once I hope it helps you guys. I am not the greatest gamer in the series but have GUI ideas that I think would help it to be even better. But so far that is only one of them.

Is anyone seeing archer units that get into range but cannot fire? This happened to me in another module tonite. Must note it if it happens again.

Actually...I had one game where some of my Roman auxiliaries with LF support couldn't shoot. I just chalked it up to me thinking they had boys. But I will play a couple games and see if I can recreate it now that someone else has mentioned it.

Could be the LOS was blocked, sometimes what we think is a clear hex is not as far as the game is concerned. Nothing worse than moving archers and not being able to shoot them and you cant move them back.

As for the deployment thing that has been requested since first beta, I wish it was kind of how it was in the old Panzer General where you could go to a separate screen and see all your units and either place them in order or pick them as you liked to deploy, much better than the huge scatter of troops we still have.

I know in my case the unit's LOS was not blocked. It was on flat ground. Nothing in the way and facing was correct.

Glad to hear that others feel the same way about the deployment. Maybe not for the next update but the one after that ... ?

perhaps there was low cloud cover and your video card did not display it so your archers did not see them  Could they have been just outside the yellow range marker?
