Chinantecs

I am sure that Jon (Mr Khurasan) will not object too strongly if I plug his new range of Chinantec figures.

See http://khurasanminiatures.blogspot.com/

Not only can these be used in FOGAM or FOGR as a Chinantec army, but up to 36 bases of them can also be used in a Colonial Spanish army, along with dinky 6 base Spanish pike and (arquebus) shot BGs (and some less than awesome horse).

Could definitely be interesting, and the figures look great.

Perhaps khurasan minatures should consider making a range of tailor-made Spanish colonial troops to go with them?

Thanks RBS. Yes it's FoG's interesting list for them that got me to look them up in the first place, only to find these terrifying looking pikemen in Ian Heath's book! So I owe FoG gratitude for showing me this army as an interesting and visually striking one.

The sculptor has made dolly pieces for a spanish arquebus and a crossbow, with intention on doing just what Richard suggests. He's working on something else right now, something cinematic, something that can kill our tremendously popular space demon sci fi models. "Game's not over" on sculpting those yet. :D But once they are done, he's going to focus on the Spanish.

My hope is I can get away with making Spanish that look generic enough to be used in Europe or in Mesoamerica.
