First Impressions

First let me say thanks for allowing me the opportunity, second, sorry for a slow start, just got back from holidays and so just got the good word and have started going.

- First impressions. What were your impression after 30 seconds, 5 minutes, 15 minutes and an hour. If you could write these down and post them to the forum it would be very useful.

Easy download, no issues. Start up was clean, easy interface and felt very much at home with navigation etc to get going.
Did the tutorial campaign, not sure if tutorial is the right name the way it sits. I am used to a tutorial giving much more direction as to what is what and how things work, this is more or less a Panzer Corps 101 for beginners, meaning you still have to do a lot on your own - where as many tutorial give no option as to what you can do to move on. Just a thought.
Second scenario I note that the map doesn't jump automatically to where you need to deploy your troops, only took me a second or two but I did try and plunk my troops down in the wrong locations.
Also I like that units that took loses previously don't get auto filled, but this may be an issue for some - maybe a choice to auto fill for those who want it (maybe it is there and I missed it)
Nice that artillery can move and fire.
Like the graphics/map - I like how the map looks but I may have more to say after a few games

- Performance. Is the game too slow on your PC? If yes, what problems exactly you experience, and what system configuration do you have?
No issues at all, quick response time, no lag, no issues and so far I haven't noticed any bugs but I have only play 3 scenarios so far.

Great first look!

I also like this, though I agree there should be an option box that or something that pops up if you try and leave the between scenario screen with understrength units. And maybe change the understrength unit font to red so it stands out. I've deployed several times having forgoten to rebuild 1 or two units. A simple:

"You still have (3) understrength unit(s) - do you still wish to deploy? Yes/No"

We have a theory that the player will learn and remember things much better if we give him a chance to play around a bit on his own. So, we just intend to explain various concepts when he encounters them - in the briefings but also in text messages popping up from time to time.

Good point, sounds like a bug to me. Will fix.

I agree that the UI and "player experience" in general around this change in game rules is not well thought through. We need to improve it, most likely with an intermission screen plus a few other features here and there.
