Can't fight some combats on my turn

Apologies if this has been well covered and I have missed it but sometimes during my turn it looks like some of my troops are engaged in melee with an enemy unit but I can not carry out the attack that turn. The arrow connecting the 2 units is grey and looks like the attack had already occured. This seems to happen fairly regularly. Does anyone know why I can't attack in my turn?

I have noticed this too, but usually when my unit is also next to a routed enemy unit, so I have assumed my lot haven't finished butchering their previous adversaries.

Want a game this weekend, dazzam? Kinsale maybe? Najera?

Best guess is that the grey arrow is pointing at a routing enemy and your troops are too busy hacking them down so can not turn and fight fresh non-broken troops. Other than that not sure why you would get a grey arrow and no be allowed to attack at will.

What has happened is that your unit already attacked the routing unit inflicting 25% losses at the end of the opponents turn and now that it is yours they are considered to have already attacked thus greyed arrows. The following turn they will be released to fight unrouted units adjacent to them.

Cheers,

Steve

Unfortunately the rules folder has been out of date pretty much since initial release and they dont have the man power to keep it up to to date. You are better off looking for answers in the forum.
