I'm designing a Later Medieval German army.
I'm thinking to have a core of 3 allied Swiss heavy weapon battle groups, MF to support from one flank and knights for the other.
Do you think it will work?

Well you have to assume that opponents will try 1 to all of the following. IF the POA is right hit the HW. Pull the knights away with skirmishers. Swing power onto the MF and try and roll them up.
So given that, you need deploy tightly, probably off center and be very disciplined in how you advance or wheel versus the enemy. This kind of army (like most) is vulnerable in it being too hard to support one flank under heavy assault. That said if you can manage to get the MF side on the side with minimal enemy.
I describe these kinds of armies as "doctrine" armies. You design the doctrine and almost never break doctrine.

Most likely between the HW and knights, or where they can be useful.

I've played around with Late Medieval Germans with a Swiss ally. Trouble is I don't have enough points to get all the goodies I want. Must convince opponents to bring more points.
I just want to see the look on someone's face when they unmask the ambush marker thats hiding the 12 base superior HW BG with general
