Hello... new to the game here. Just curious if there is a demo for the game. Also, if I purchase Swords & Scimitars, does that contain the original game as well, or do I need to purchase both?

Swords & Scimitars is an expansion pack and it doesn't contain the full game.
You need to buy both Field of Glory like the main game and Swords &Scimitars like expansion pack.
And concerning the demo I'm not sure because my demo was the beta version testing.
