First two BGs Armenian Archers are painted now.
All bases will get some grass as the middle front rank base, but slightly greener.

Which product did you use for that base? The miniatures look very nice and when finished much better. Well done!

The bases are 1mm plasticard with a 1mm magnetic base under it. All bases will stick to metal.
@phil
The deal is good sex for nice miniatures.

Oh, no, I meant for the static grass you will be using. It is very nice looking.

I've been married 24 years. She still doesn't like my miniatures

Really nice painting. Legio Heroica miniatures are really great for shading.
But a little brush before shading will increase the effect at little time cost
BTW as Strategos I will be pleased to know what you use for such high grass effect ?

Hi, thanks for the comments.
The static grass comes from miniNatur, a german company that is specialised on such things.
See here:

Army Painter has similar grass:

Update:
Bedouin Lancers. According to Head, the wore predominantly reds and blues. I hope you like 'em.
They will get grass later, too.

I kind of suspected that. Unfortunately miniNatur is very hard to find in Madrid. I have seen the Army Painter, similar, but not the same effectively. So I guess I will have to get some of those one time somehow. Thanks for the information!

You should try doing more shading on the horses and also put some markings on them like stockings and blazes to liven them up. At the moment they definitely suffer by comparison with how well you've painted the riders. Horses should be fun to paint with all the variations in marking and colorings that occur naturally. Well done horse are also likely to be especially appealing to most women

Well, it's no fun for me painting horses.
They are drybrushed which cannot be seen very good in the picture and also the modelling is pretty flat on the horses.
Most can be done on some of the legs which is also not in the picture.
Some time in the past I decided not to keep me busy with stockings or blazes on 15mm horses. I want to get an army ready, so perhaps later my girlfriend will add some (she has better knowledge of these things anyway).
Thanks for your comment regardless.

A very effective technique I have used with horses is painting them with brown colours very watered. This makes that the upper parts look highlighted without the need for drybrush. After that I apply bitumen of Judea disolved with White spirit, that I clean finally with some White Spirit. And a few white strips in the front and the legs help to improve the feeling of "more alive".

You do what? Has that something to do with praying?
Seriously, what is that?

After doing a camp and commanders for my Romans I'm back working on the Fatimids. Next will be some Sudanese Archers.
I want to finish something really quick before starting with the more ambitious job on some of the cavalry.

Hehehe it does nothing to do with the Ku Klux Klan either.
It is something similar to dipping, but actually no dipping in it. And you have a bigger control of the process. It is also similar to use a wash of oil painting. The properties of this product make that it takes a long time to dry. It will be dry, so you can touch it after a few hours (when the white spirit is gone), but if you add a little of white spirit you can remove the parts you don“t like how they look. The best part is that it gives the miniatures an old fashion looking and you do not have to care about lights. I somehow do the lights with the watered paints.
Here you have a step by step in my blog. Maybe google can translate that to you, but from the pictures it gets quite clear.

Ah, I see, thanks. Seems to be the same effect as Army Painter more or less. Actually I also apply the Army Painter with a brush and don't dip it.
