A single BG of 8 Bow are shooting at two targets. the bow are in an irregualr formation so at most could only roll 6 dice

do you calculate the # of dice first and then whork out who theya re shooting at?
IE 8 bow have 6 shots as every file has a target

If so is it
1 shot vs BG A and 5 shots vs BG B
or
2 shot vs BG A and 4 shots vs BG B

Alternatively do you work out which frotn ranks are shooting and work out the number of shots from that

ie
1 shot on BG A and 4 shots on BG B (wasting the single dice from two rear bases due to having to split thier 0.5 dice between 2 BGs.

And don't forget that as you count total dice against each target if you had another bow unit (X) to the side you would be able to use that 'lost' dice in conjunction with BG X

So back rank dice are now 2, 1 from 'CC' and 1 from 'CX' in partnership.

I don't have the rules to hand, but I believe it is based on the targets, not the shooters. 4 at B and 1 at A, assuming no others are also shooting at these targets.
