The French are besieging an English castle by the Auvezere river at Auberoche in Gascony. They are just settling down for their evening meal when they are attacked by English forces, led by Henry of Grosmomt, Earl of Derby.

NB - this scenario includes a representation of a castle and rather unusual troop characteristics for the French e.g. most knights are classified as "medium foot" and "unprotected". This is because they were totally unprepared for the attack that came while they were relaxing in their camp.
