Early Landsknechts

I am wondering about the early uniforms of Landsknechts. I am specifically looking at them for use in a Later Medieval German City League army in/around 1490's. Would they have the elaborate uniforms typically associated with Landsknechts or something simpler? Would Landsknechts minis from the Italian wars be suitable?
