Bug? or just the roll of the dice -

Hi

I am not sure if what I am seeing is just randomness
I am in a game where the cohesion test rolled double six three time in a row.
I had the feeling that troops were not breaking as I would expect - so I was looking out for it. And if my maths is the odds of this is 1/46,656 so I figured that there may be a bug in the game.

I have copied the debug-FieldOfGlory.txt - I work in IT so I figured there might be a record somewhere.

I can email it to you if you like.

regards, Jon

I think that what you may have missed is that is a unit has to take more than one test for the same cause in a player turn it will keep the 1st die roll. Keith

Is that right - what a bizzare rule. And not how it is documented in the help that comes with the game.

I have never seen another game that works in this way....

So this means that if i target 1 unit on combat who rolls a good cohesion test, then I should target a different unit if possible. Not the typical way I would play a game - bring mass to bear on a single point but if thats how it works....

thanks, Jon

See Combat Mechanism in the Help file.

Here's the text for Impact, similar comments are there for Missile and Melee

"A battle group retains the die roll from its initial impact combat in a single player turn, and uses that same die roll in all subsequent cohesion tests from losing an impact combat in a single player turn."

Thanks for that. I had only read the part on cohesion tests...
I just dived into the game and started to play.

It is a little unusual - I guess that means that better quality, more expensive troops have an advatange over the hordes - but then I assume that is taken into account in the points costs.

I shall keep this in mind in my play.

BTW not a critisism - just observation. I am enjoying playing the game.

thanks for the replies
