I have a 2 deep file of medium archers that had been operating as an overlap in an ongoing combat. That file is now charged by a mounted BG. My archers are currently disrupted so will lose 1 die per three. The file starts out with 2 fighting dice and one shooting die. The POA's are even so I would like to lose the shooting die (hit with a 5) and retain the 2 fighting dice (hit with a 4). However I think I must lose a die from the larger 2 dice group whether I like it or not.

Is that correct?

Yes, I think so, but I am not 100% sure.
