Hi, I'm new and obviously a bit thick. My question is, in multiplayer mode, why are some challenges password-protected? What's that all about? Many thanks in advance if anyone answers.

When posting a challenge you can lock the game so that the opponent needs the password to pick it up. In this way you can reserve a game for a specific opponent. Normally people through private mails organise a match or through the in-game chat box while playing someone and notify them what the password is.
Cheers,

It means they are too afraid to play with people like you and me. Putting passwords on the game allows them to specifically choose a challenger who won't beat them too badly.

I sort of hate the password-protected games as both a player of them and as a player not-of-them. The right solution is that I should be able to issue a challenge to a specific player (say "Bob"), Bob should see that challenge in his game list, and no one else should see it at all.

Most of the locked games are for the ongoing campaigns and leagues. I play both in a league and also open games as well.
