Interception question

I see that the rules for interception charges say that the zone if interception does not pass through disordering terrain. Fair enough. Can a BG that is partially in disordering terrain (e.g. the back rank only) intercept?

I thought the answer was yes, because the ZOI extends from the front rank, and therefore does not pass through any terrain.

I agree with you - the rules talk about the ZoI passing through terrain and not the BG, therefore, if the front edge of the BG is clear of terrain then it can intercept.

FWIW that's how I've always played it too.

I am pretty sure that when I was asked to rule on this one as an umpire I followed the logic that the ZoI is to the front of the intercepting BG, not where the intercepting BG is.

Sup, dudes?

Actually, the ZOI and terrain seems pretty straightforward to me. Nothing to see here. Move along.
