Will there be some new maps with LT? I don't suppose it would get any results to ask for more open maps when you choose and win 'very open'???
Are there any plans to attempt something new with terrain choosing?

Surely you're not intending to lead us into a life of criminal behavior?!
Shame on you!
Then again, I'll probably lose the league-games anyway, so.......
EDIT: Iain, is the release-date of Feb. 15th from the product-page still the target?

I wonder if people will believe me if I tell them I'm a beta tester? I could do with a few people throwing me a game at the moment

The beta-test haven't started yet. And as will all the other FoG features, those will be made available through a patch for all the players (maybe only the new LT maps being available for the LT owners), as all the other FoG features added after the initial release.
When we'll get the beta emails (in other words, when the beta will start)?!!

Terrain is an area that FOG could really be improved in, so this is exciting. I hope we get some small buildings on the map, and some city or village walls. If not for the pre-drawn maps, then at least for the editor. There's been times when I've been making a map and just gone "wait... how do I put a house?"
Hope I get into the Beta!

And dont forget walls!!! with medieval armies and roman legions cant made some defensive works like castles or camps... ooo and laagers now that LT is the next hehehe even i think that with walls and towers from persian lists is possible made a castle/camp.
For me terrain selection the winner of iniciative can select if he prefer move first, have a line front closer to the map center or select the terrain type (could be great if can fix the problem with defense in streams/elevations etc and add the option to select a water obstacle in the middle).
Well, beta... i only expect dont wait a month like with S&S... 11 days and waiting the e-mail with the magic words and they are not "cheap viagra and rolex clocks"

This feature is a few days away from a public beta test but ...
The winner of initiative will be offerred a selection of four very different maps with preview screen to select from.

Ummm but them some armies never win iniciative... i prefer a system where iniciative give first move to winner and for map seleccion you see 4-6 maps (accord with terrain selection and more for iniciative winner) and every player can select maps where he want fight (2 for the non winner and all for the winner if he want) if one map is selected for the 2 players they play this.
I find the feature interesting but as pike/HF fanboy i am going to "evade" some types of armies hard to fight in a neutral terrain, you know, VS LF-MF armies you can find a true obstacle race
PD: ummm maybe using macedonian list in IF where you can change HF pikes by MF units a great all terrain army
PD2:Beta test in few days??? OMG OMG OMG, this week maybe??? before end of the month???

In my opinion this is a great improvement for the game.
