It’s a great day for anyone out there eagerly waiting for the release Panzer Corps!

Top of the list is a brand new Developer Diary. The first episode is written in the form of an interview to Alexander Shargin, Lead Developer on the game available at www.slitherine.com/pc_dd_1

The article is packed full of information about the game, which is in development at the Lordz Games Studio, covering its features and interesting facts on how it has been designed and developed. The basic principles used to bring back that ‘Panzer General’ feeling in a modern game, which are the cornerstone of the design and details on the multiplayer options and an in-depth description of the single player campaign mode.

The diary also comes with a dedicated teaser trailer, which can also be found on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/user/SlitherineG ... 5JHrFOUaQQ ) and new screenshots and artwork of in-game units.

The game is fast approaching the beta stage and Slitherine and Matrix are looking for beta testers! To enroll in the beta testing program, press and fans need to register at http://www.slitherine.com/beta_test/panzer_corps_pc

The game is absolutely huge:

- 400 unit types, divided into 19 unit classes with 20 detailed parameters to identify unit’s abilities, 17 terrain types affecting the gameplay in various ways. Panzer Corps will celebrate the glory days of strategy gaming with the aim of attracting new players to the genre;
- Campaign: all 26 scenarios are combined into a large campaign tree with several entry points at various stages of the war. Depending on the outcome of each battle (decisive victory, marginal victory or defeat), the player will be faced with different challenges and progress along different parts of the campaign tree;
- Nations: all major and many minor nations represented: Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Great Britain, USA, USSR, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Albania, Romania, Greece and more.
- Core units that travel with you throughout the campaign gaining experience and that can be upgraded as new weapon technologies become available.

Panzer Corps will be on sale on the Slitherine (www.slitherine.com) and Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) sites in May 2011.

In theory it could be end of March, by than all assets should be done, but always something turns up in the end in Beta, or the annoying publisher wants something redone or we meet some ugly bugs... ;-)

We all want to have this game out asap, but a nice stable and good product, so if it takes a bit longer so be it, if it can go faster, we will not hold it back, that is a promise.

Cheers,

Tim aka LZ

I for one would prefer a well polished game with a delay then a NON polished game on time anyday of the week.

Agree 100%, if we want a rushed disaster, we can still pick up a copy of PG3D....

Well this will be an instant buy for me. I'll not wait for any reviews.
The sooner the better.

Is the youtube video meant to be set to private?

"PanzerCorps TeaserTrailer"
This video is private.

We re-uploaded to improve the compression which meant the link changed.

We made the old one private but I've made it unlisted so people with the old link can view it but it does not appear on the list of videos on our site.

I have responded to the request for beta testers, but I'm afraid that the response will go to my old e-mail address of: jcasaly1@verizon. com, rather than the new one of: jcasaly1@frontier.com. I am one of those unfortunates from WV that was forced to switch to Frontier. Can someone please be sure that the instructions on beta testing gets sent to my new e-mail address? Thanks. Has beta testing started yet?

Oh good, good for it means I haven't been rejected as beta tester, signed up two or three week ago, so I still may have a chance to participate in this project. :D
