ECW Mounted POAs

We have a game tonight (loosely based on Naseby, so Cavaliers v Determined Horse) and I wanted to double check that I have the rules right for Cavaliers, Horse and Determined Horse.
Last game I mistakenly thought that Cavaliers were Impact Horse.
They are not - so as far as I can see the only applicable POAs are:
Pistols in the Impact phase (both sides have these, so there will be no net POA); if Cavaliers fight early war Parliament horse with carbines, they get a net +POA for this.
Pistols in the Melee phase (both sides have these, so there will be no net POA)
Heavier armour in the Melee phase.

That's it.

And as far as I can see the only difference between these troops is:
Cavaliers are subject to out-of-control pursuit, but are otherwise the same as Determined Horse.
Horse differ only in fighting in two ranks in melee.

Is that it?

Right.

Commanded shot tucked in between the carbine horse will even things out in impact.

Likewise, commanded shot tucked in between cavaliers would even things out in melee.

(For the bases adj. to the CS anyway!)

The cavaliers, being cheaper in points, have a bit of an advantage that way.

You forgot that Cavaliers are usually more spiffily dressed than their more sombre Parliamentarian thugs, but other than that you got the POA's right. Also don't forget that Cavaliers are shock troops so have the option of breaking off form other non shock mounted, but the horse can not break off from the cavaliers. Just in case things start to go bad for the spiffy Royalist boys.

Cavaliers can't break off from Determined Horse, which is what they were facing last night.

Anyway, supporters of the king will be happy to learn that the historical result was reversed; the veteran Royalist foot were too much for their New Model opposition, and we had a contagious rout of pretty much all the parliamentary foot - the first time I've seen that happen.
The poor unit on the end broke due to being at 4 bases (autobreak) - next unit (which was already fragmented after rolling 2 for its cohesion test from a previous combat loss) tested and failed - and so on.

Parliamentary dice rolling was truly appalling - even the Cavaliers caught in the rear during a melee by Okey's Dragoons shrugged it off.

Sounds like Parliament had about as much luck as the Poodle and the Royalists did in our last game. I may have set a record for the number of 1's that I managed to roll, had 1 unit atuo break and both units on either side went fragged after I rolled snake eyes twice in a row for seeing the middle unit break. I can sympathize with your Parliamentarian player, but he got his just deserts so good show for the King and all.
