Moving from overlap to flank charge

How does a BG move from an overlap position to a flank charge position ?
Does it have to wheel away first, or can it wheel towards the enemy, staying in corner contact, then charge next turn ?

Either way can work. Wheel away and back again, using a double wheel, or move a smidge forward and wheel toward the enemy. (The smidge forward is so that the first point of contact is not the front corner of the enemy BG). Regardless which method you choose, the downside is that you lose the overlap for one turn.

2 - your bound and then your opponents.

By which time the melee is over and your troops have routed, or broken the enemy

So it's OK to make this move which ends in contact with the enemy (as the corner of your base must contact the flank of the enemy), even though it's not a charge and you are not in overlap position ?

Heretics. There are no bounds. Only turns.

Such a move does not count as a flank charge or any other kind of charge. you would have to move out of your overlap position to a legal flank charge position, thus you would not be in contact with your target and would no longer count as an overlap. Unless you figure this is going to be a major drawn out slug fest it seems like a wasted effort where the extra overlap dice would probably be more useful to you then losing your overlap for 2 turns before you can make the flank charge.

And I think you may be restricted from wheeling away from the enemy depending how deep you are and how you are positioned with the enemy. Accoring to FAQ you can wheel out of line of your own troops even though the rear of your base crosses them But I dont think this applies to space occupied by the enemy.
AABB
AACC
If A were to wheel left its rear may cross the space occupied by B.
A& C are allies
B are an enemy

True enough you can't pass through enemy bases in a wheel so the wheel might have been blocked in that case. Now if they were drilled dudes you could have moved up and turned 90 to face the enemy flank within a gnats todger of death.....
