Slitherine

The Marquess of Montagu (John Neville) and his army were travelling north through "Lancastrian territory" to meet a Scottish delegation and escort them back to York for peace talks at a session of the English Parliament. He was intercepted at Hedgeley Moor, Northumberland by a Lancastrian army led by Henry Beaufort, Duke of Somerset.
