forgive me if this has been asked before but i cant seem to find it in the rules.

if you have allies, do they have to conform with the minima/maxima of the main army list?

for example if my army can have a maximum of 4 Bases of artillery, and the ally list can have 4 Bases of artillery as well, could i altogether have 8 bases of artillery in my army?

Allies only have to conform to the minima and maxima of the ally list (unless otherwise stated). Therefore, in your example the answer is yes they could.
