After detaching bases to form command out shot BGs, and combining parent BGs to maintain the total BG count, what happens to the order of march? (apologies if this is covered in the rules?)

"The army’s order of march must be adjusted by the minimum necessary to accommodate the reorganised battle groups. In tournaments, players wishing to use the detached shot option must have a second army list (differing only in this regard) pre-prepared and can only use their main list or that alternative list."

Just have both lists handy and then decide which to use.

Thanks. Once I dug out my rulebook I found the relevent section (the index in FOGR is ~much~ better than the FOG attempt by the way. Good effort there)
I can see there is scope for some wriggle room in the phrase "by minimum necessary", although really, it's hard see how even the most dedicated cheese-monger could extract any advantage. Now there's a hostage to fortune.
... although ..
It's possible to boost your attrition point count, if the amalgamated parent units combine to form a grand battle group. You probably need to start with Later Tercios. Was this intentional?

Well no, it isn't, because that would not be permitted by the statement: "The parent battle groups must be combined into composite battle groups so that the army has the same break point as before."
So if it changes the army break point, it isn't allowed.
