Support please

I purchased FOG and FOG Immortal Fire from Slitherine (and through Plimus) almost a month ago- connectivity issues prevented successful downloads of these programs, so I bought and received the back-up CDs on Dec 24-

I have not been able to install the programs off of the CDs (2.8 GHz Pentium D, Windows XP SP2) the symptom during installation is as follows:

after punching the "Install Now" button on the Plimus install window (this install window arises from the Autorun function on the CD), a DOS command window pops up and tells me "cannot install this program under DOS"-

Besides the standard install from the CD, i have tried
(1) copying folders to HDD and installing from there using Autorun
(2) running the exe file directly from both CD and HDD
(3) disabling Kaspersky antivirus and running Autorun from the CD

the result is always the same, as described earlier

one observation: *.exe files often have special icons specific to the program; the *.exe file for both FOG programs is the generic icon on the Plimus CDs- is this an indication of an install path through DOS? are the FOG programs installed through DOS?

Plimus has passed this on to tech support at Slitherine by email to me; tech support at Slitherine appears to reside mostly in the Forum, in which I posted this problem a week ago with no response as of yet; I also e-mailed this problem to a link at Slitherine that was provided in a Plimus e-mail (no response yet). I understand the holiday season can slow down normal business procedures, and I am patiently waiting for some assistance in getting these programs running on my computer now that the new year has begun-- thank you lamont anderson
