I know it's gauche to answer a rhetorical question, but no, you're not dim, although Alasdair is a bit slow. It's not yet up on the Oxford web site either
Email
alasdairharley@hotmail.com for details.
Alasdair has a list of armies available to be picked, one-per player. It's a mix of Wars of Religion and Trade and Treachery armies. Over half have been claimed so far. The idea is that people try and play one game before the event, anywhere (probably, at their home club, if they have one), then 3 games on the day at Wolvercote village hall .

Peter - thanks. I know Alasdair and he gave me a good 'stuffing' at Stockport - and we played a game too!

When will people stop asking rhetorical questions?

Now your chance to give Alasdair a good stuffing.
I must add that we played the foirst round of games at Oxford last night and Alasdair gave Peter a good stuffing.

I presume from this that Alistair was umpiring. I will record the result as that being so for the Rankings. Let me know if that is not correct

LATER IMPERIAL AUSTRIAN (Alasdair Harley)
I'm interested in this beast of an army for Britcon.
What did Alasdair's version look like?
I'm thinking of using a couple of ETs, three Kiels, shedloads of cannon and a few other bits and bobs, but am always willing to learn from the master

Nothing at all like that.
However, his version probably does require a master to use well. My Transylvanian/Hungarian army was apparently very similar, but I was unable to do particularly well with it. (Well joint 6th, but I felt a bit outmatched in 2 out of 3 of the battles).
