HULL DOWN ... modifier

Pip,
When I first started my TrackHit! mod, I wanted to create a hulldown status for tank targets on a hill.
I figured out that I could create a new tile set with the suffix "hill". These duplicate tiles would be placed only on a hilltop. When the final hit logic rolls, it checks me and the target's tile # and if the targets tile is a hill tile, and me not (good English eh?, you understand though
) then the target is hulldown ... turret hits only.
Anyway, I didn't pursue this (for now), but .... I'm wondering, is there some super secret, deep and dark, criptic script that can be used instead of my smoke and mirrors?
I mean, the cursor tooltip knows it's a hill, your engine knows it's a hill ... I feel left out!
