Thanks for sharing. This is why I really like the GS victory conditions versus the ones for the vanilla game. In GS, victory is measured against the historical outcome, so even though the axis fell on the last turn of the game both players performance matched the historical outcome so the game was a draw. Most German generals knew in 1944 that they were going to lose the war. That's why a number of them tried, and failed, to assassinate Hitler in July 1944. And after the failed Battle of the Bulge I think most in the military knew defeat was only a matter of time. Especially, those troops in the east who had been pushed back to Poland knew that there was no stopping the Russians. And yet, the Germans continued to fight. I think the victory conditions in GS replicate that. In most games, even in those with an ultimate axis victory, the axis would collapse and be defeated eventually.
