Shooting at Artillery with Supporting BG

Here I have my second question from our first real battle. Sorry if I go on a bit! I will try to make this a bit less woffly!
This is what I, as umpire, ruled.
In the case of a pike and shot BG giving rear support to artillery if the artillery is shot at the artillery take the hits and lose cohesion as they take and fail cohesion tests. The cohesion state of the artillery has no effect whatsoever on the supporting BG.
It is possible and - in fact - likely that the artillery will be in range to be shot at whereas the supporting group will not as the supporting group count their position as behind the artillery.
However when the artillery is charged the supporting battle group take part in the combat as if they were positioned where the front of the artillery were and are still steady.
The artillery, if fragmented (as ours were) have to take a cohesion test for being charged while fragmented. If they pass (as ours did) then they remain in place.
The cohesion status of the artillery still has no effect on the supporting battlegroup who fight as normal. If the supporting group win the combat and break the chargers then the artillery are still in place and the supporting group are behind them.
Is this correct please?
