28th March, 1461, the day before the colossal battle of Towton, the Lancastrian vanguard, led by Lord John Clifford, attempted to stop the Yorkist forces crossing the River Aire at Ferrybridge. A sharp encounter ensued before the Earl Of Warwick, withdrew the Yorkist forces and sent Lord Fauconberg and a mounted force to cross the river at Castleford, some way off to the north-west. This forced a Lancastrian withdrawal.

So can you force a crossing with the Yorkist forces or can you gain a short delay for the Lancastrians?

This is a tough task for the Yorkists. As usual, any comments or suggestions for improvement are most welcome.
