last friday playing against Guy 2 points arose:
first point:
I had a Mixed BG of 6 MF with the front rank LSp Sw (3) and the rear rank with Bow (3) . It was fighting in melee and lost a base (a front rank). The bowmen in second rank in the center of my BG came to fill the space. Then , at the joint phase, the cavalry it was fighting broke off. At the following shooting phase they shooted and Naughty Guy argued that, as one shooting base is now in front rank the other bases are considered as second shooting rank and thus i have 1 dice per 2. So i threw 2 dices instead of 3. Was he right?

Second point:
I had two BG prefectly line up . He charged the first BG with his Chariot BG in 2x2 formation. He hit the first BG and when he fed more base in combat, his bases came in frontal contact with my other BG. Is that correct? He thus came in melee without charging that second BG.

Fogly

I don't believe so as you would look at each file to see which base was the first shooting rank.

I believe this is OK.

Second rank for shooting is determined by file.
Expanding into an overlapping BG is OK as well. Lucky they weren't skirmishers as they would not get chance to evade.
