2011 Australian FOG Tournaments

I thought it might be helpful to list in one place all the Australian FOG tournaments expected in 2011. The aim of such a list is to assist players to plan for future events and possibly increase participation though a wider exposure of events.

I have started with the events that either a) I know are scheduled or b) ran in 2010. Please post on this thread if you know of any events planned for 2011. Please indicate if possible where details can be found. I will then update the list.

The current list:

22nd-24th January 2011. Cancon. ACT. Details at http://www.cgs.asn.au/cancon2011.shtml

19th and 26th March 2011. Caesar's Challenge. Auburn, VIC. Details at: http://www.mondayknights.org.au/jsmallf ... 202011.pdf

9th and 10th April. Clash of Empires - WA state FoG championships. 800 points prior to 200AD from the following books; Swifter Than Eagles, Immortal Fire, Rise Of Rome, Empire of the dragon. Please see oz_fog forum for entry details.

16th and 17th April 2011. Leviathan. Quakers Hill, NSW. Details at http://leviathan.westernsuburbsgamesociety.com/

16th and 17th April 2011. FOGR Event. League of Ancients in Melbourne. Please see oz_fog forum for details.

30th April and 1st May 2011. Barbarian's 25mm tournament. Ashbury, NSW. Please see tournament thread for details.

11th-12th June 2011. Melee. Unlimited Hobbies, 2/94 Kildare Rd, Blacktown, NSW. Please see tournament thread for details.

1st - 3rd October, 2011. MOAB. Sylvania, NSW. Details at http://www.southernbattlegamers.org/moa ... 2&Itemid=2

???. Victorian Championships. This event ran on the 6th and 7th November 2010. I am unsure if it will run again in 2011.

??? November 2011. Newcastle. Themed 28mm and possibly 15mm. Event not yet confirmed.

I know that there are events in Adelaide but I am unaware of the details.

Notes:
Anzac day and Easter fall in the same period in 2011. It appears that the long weekend is 22nd April to 26th April. I know of no tournaments on this weekend.

We haven't heard any movement of the FOG R tournament front yet either. I know my immediate group of 3-4 players have been upgrading/creating our renaissance collections as a result of the arrival of FOG R and I know a few other Sydney people have renaissance collections. Perhaps this free long weekend could be the opportunity for Australia's first FOG R competition? Are there many other potential/actual FOG R players out there in OZ Land? Should be 3 or 4 books of lists out by then. I could probably organise something if enough people were interested.

I would be interested. Not sure about others. Really no way to gauge opinion than to set a date and call for entries/indications on the FOG-R forum and oz_fog.

Two things against a high turnout on this particular weekend:
1. The rules haven't been around that long and the lists are not all out. People and their figures might not yet be ready for a comp.
2. This is a 5 day weekend. Many people like to go away over Easter. Unless you were thinking of a 3 day event, then any other (normal) weekend might be a better bet.

Cheers

Sounds good Muz.
It will be good to get back up to Newcastle for a comp and a pint or two in the Kent.

I wonder if the victorian championships will run this year in November. It would be good if they were not on the same weekend.
