Frankly, I kinda fins the way the "distribution" of the points was made at the end of the tournament kind of disappointing.
I understand that is pantherboy's tournament, with his rules, but still..
For the game which were NOT actually played at all until the end of the tournament, on which basis is decided which player should receive the win? I find the fact that some players were active at the end of the tournament while others weren't is in no way inferior to the fact that at the beginning of the tournament there were other players active and inactive. Why a player having more time at the end of the tournament should be gaining an advantage over a player who had more time to play at the beginning?
Also, looking at the tables, I couldn't really figure out any set of rules after which the win were awarded for not played games. Some players got all their unplayed games as wins, while other players got all their unplayed games as loses, not to mention games which were not awarded to any player and so on (they both lost).
At this moment, I really do consider that the present way of "resolving" the unplayed games at the end of a tournament is completely faulty, and doesn't reflect the real situation at all. I think that another way of dealing with the unplayed games is imperative for the fairness of the tournament.
This being said, I thank you all for the good games I had during it, and I'm letting you know that unfortunately I won't participate in any further tournaments due to the complete lack of free time (I am working on the game engine of an ancient tactical wargame, which should have a first version ready soon enough) and particularly into LoEG due to finding the point distribution rules for the unplayed games at the end of the tournament completely faulty.
Thank you.
