Hi All

New to FoG and I'm thinking of building a Maurikian army but have a question about the combined Skoutatoi units. The list says 8-12 bases with a 75%-25% split MF LF. I was wondering how this worked out on the table with 6 MF and 2 LF. Do you have a 2 deep line of 3 and have the 2 LF anywhere on the 3rd rank?
An 8 base unit 2 wide and 4 deep seems pointless as the archers dont get to shoot on impact (unless I've read the rules wrong which is highly possible). Its just that having an uneven number of LF in the 3rd rank offends my sensibilities.

or 3 bases in each would be the norm. Remember if a front rank base is lost it is replaced by any rear rank base, so take them out of the last rank, unless you are about to be taken from behind.

Ahh I hadn't considered the LF in the third rank. That clears that up, thanks for the quick reply

If you do this watch out for shooters as 2 hits will cause a test.
You lose the value of the large BG sixe for HPB tests.
