Wow, never expected another PG type remake, looks good
From the screenshots it seems you have kept the large scale (basically all of the balkans and italy/greece in that one screenie

) and the scope of the game true to the original (as opposed to getting a little too cute with 1 km hexes that they tried in PG 2, I mean why be so specific about scale but keep all the other abstractions, made that game a little silly)
BIG question though: Will there be a onboard map editor?? This was truly the only major thing SSI lacked in its PG titles.... I really think that that must be included, because i am definalty willing to buy a game that one could argue was been played to death by many players, as long as it ships with an editor.
If not planned to include, you must be aware that there are many PG clones being worked on/available that are free and have editors.
I'd much rather support a company like Slitherine and buy the game from you with all the support, compatabilty w modern o/s's ! Cheers!

No doubt, a first class, fully functional and easy to use Editor will come with the game, we cannot promise it on day one, but be sure we understand why this is a must have feature.

Now that is good news, Id' preorder now if possible
Oh btw the trailer didnt mention this, but will the game support the linear campaign system that PG did?
And Oh # 2, will this game have the abilty to play MP on the slitherine server like FOg (and the much anticipated Commander Great War) ?
Cheers!
edit: anwered my question #1 by going to your own webite

>>>> Campaign: all 26 scenarios are combined into a large campaign tree with several entry points at various stages of the war. Depending on the outcome of each battle (decisive victory, marginal victory or defeat), the player will be faced with different challenges and a progress along different parts of the campaign tree;

>>> Yes all games will use the much praised active PBEM system, just like in FOG, BA, CTGW and now Panzer Corps.

Great news, gotta admit that SSI/s Panzer Corps was not just a well done game all around, but it had FUN written all over it.
Thanks Slitherine for working on this game/ Patience is a virtue.

This is great news indeed. It's ambitious considering the accolade Panzer General received and because the comparisons are inevitable - high expectations from the start! However, judging by the other games from The Lordz Games Studio and Slitherine, I'll be more than happy to pre-order.
P.S. Good to see another Fritz Leiber fan here

Fantastic News - really looking forward to this as I used to love the Panzer Genral series altogether and the new team should make for a superb game. With the ditor to come as well, a good few hours of wargaming fun I think in 2011 !

Dang, what can I say, almost feels like someone is listening to me.
Been griping that wargaming has not been making enough games that are just fun first and complex second, if at all.
Now all you need to do is release it for the PS3 and I will gladly say there is a god

We see Panzer Corps as a whole new game series really, so an Allied and Pacific version are on our wishlist for sure.

Ah sometimes what is not said is more important than what is said
Please consider a Fantasy "Corp" style remake somewhere down the road, I think there are a lot gamers that like to slaughter orcs and elves , deploy spearheads of steam tanks and divebombing eagles etc etc.

Yep, I agree totally. A fantasy and/or steampunk wargame would be an essential purchase for me!

I was a huge PG fan, also had to admit that fantasy general was my other favorite from that series. Have you started beta tests yet? I would love to get into that beta test, kind of like finding a favorite toy from my past. Really looking forward to seeing this release, thank you for bringing a true classic back to life

Straight history version for me, none of the other stuff would really interest me. Same thought, let us know when you think you want beta testers, I would be interested in putting my name forwards. Great to see a classic being updated. Still have my original in the loft alongside Civ, only 2 I kept.

I still regret the day I sold off my copy of fantasy general, I have Panzer General for windows 98 kicking about here somewhere.

This is fantastic news. Shows how phenomenal the original 1995 (?) game was that it never stopped having user made scenarios/campaigns/utilities/etc. created for the game on fan forums and various PG dedicated fan sites. For myself, PG is the game that finally pushed me to but my first PC after hesitating for many, many years. I imagine I have played it for 1000's of hours. Happy to hear the people that put out the excellent Commander: Europe At War are involved in this project.

So glad someone is rebuilding Panzer General. Like many, that was my first game that introduced me to the WW2 game genre. Will be following DAILY. Think I need to reinstall PZG right now!
