Crashing and carrying unfinished games

Hi,

I now have a set of 9 games that have become unplayable, and unable to get rid of. They all have their last move date set to 1969. There is a button to claim them, but it does not work. I think these are all games in which the other player stopped making moves, and that the shift happened when the game was over 30 days with no move.

In addition, I am now having trouble getting into existing games, when I try the game crashes - note that was an intermittant problem for me that is now constant.

Can you go into my record and remove the offending games?

Mead Walker - Joca Ramiro

Note, I am on Windows XP, and the latest FOG version. Several months ago, you were quite critical of my video card.

Hi Joca

these games are not showing up in the admin tool which is why they're not being removed. I've asked someone to look in to this and find out what is going wrong so we can clean them out! Sorry for the problems.

The latest version of FoG does have the images stored in a different but much more efficient format which could be related to the issue. If you can give us the details of your graphics card again we can check in to it.

It is usingg the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile.

Note, I am on the latest update of FOG.

PS - thanks for the quick response.

If you get a crash can you post the crash message? Also please state the game being played. Thanks Keith

Note, this is an operating system error, not a FOG one:

AppName: fieldofglory.exe AppVer: 1.4.0.0 ModName: ig4dev32.dll
ModVer: 6.14.10.4831 Offset: 0001bc4a

The game is Sellasia 22BC (MS) with gamerwd(Spartans)

To add some additional data, I complained about this many months ago. Since then I have found that some games - by and large the bigger set pieces crash more - and that some times of day - US evening - are worse. Also, if I pick one that will not crash, ususally a DAG game, then I can get most of the others to load.

Starting on Saturday, the pattern changed. They all crash.

I hope this is helpful in your diagnosis.

Keith: This was an earlier post:

"I have the impression that every message gets one and only one response, so here is a clever trick to try to get a second one.

In an earlier post, I noted that when I try to play some of the more complex scenarios the application crashes. Note, this happens SOME of the time in both mulitplayer and solo modes. The effect seems time of day related. Sometimes I can get to the games in bunches, some times it crashes the first time I try.

Keven asked about my system. This is what I said.

Model: Dell Latitude D630
OS: Windows XP
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
RAM: 1.99 GB
Vidio Card: ??
Video RAM: ??

I am not quite sure how to get to the video card stuff. I have an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile. It appears to have 384MB of memory."

Note, back then you asked what I meant about the "trick" That was a sill joke, I reposted to try to get your attention.

It is your graphics driver that is crashing.

Do you know if your graphics driver is up-to-date?

If not, here is a download link for the driver for the GMA graphics found in the Dell Latitude D630:

Thank you Eric.

I downloaded a new driver and it works - no crashes yet.

two quibbles: a) The Intel driver was rejected by the system, but when I went to Dell and downloaded one from them, it was happy. b) If you do get around to removing the abandoned games from my system - now there are 8 all Dec 31, 1969, that would be nice. All in all, if you could open up the window of time for me to claim such games that would improve my win/loss ratio. But, this is a small matter.

Thanks again for the help. I remain a loyal customer.
