Freeverse or Slitherine Shop?

So which is better to buy from? Freeverse, or direct from Slitherine?

And are there any sorts of bundle discounts for buying all the expansion packs and the base game at the same time? $39.99 for the base doesn't seem too bad, but 25 bucks a pop for expansions gives me a bit of pause.

If you buy the expansions at the same time as the main game we give you 20% off each. We're selling the same version on both sites. Where you buy from is entirely up to you :)

That's a rather crappy deal for those of us who bought the main game when there were NO EXPANSIONS!!

Sometimes you're in the right place at the right time - sometimes you're not.

No point in getting upset about it ...

I was wondering about what the best deal for *you* was, so I could put my dollars towards supporting your work :)

I didn't see a 20% off on freeverse when buying all three expansions at the same time as the main game, I'll check your site next.

Thanks!

A game publisher that just started distributing Field of Glory for the Mac - apparently they don't offer the 20% off expansions deal when bundling together with the base game though.

For those who bought the game before the expansions we always give a period at initial release to pick them up with the 20%. This is far more than every other site I know does.

Normally people get hit for being early adopters and we go out of our way to do the opposite.

We're going to be doing the same for S&S when it releases.

Well, it's your store, your product, so your rules of course. I might have a suggestion though - agile web solutions (1Password), just sent out a thanksgiving treat to all of their registered customers, giving them a "gift license" to give away to a friend. Lord knows, once I've bought something, it's not like I need it again - but being able to share something with a buddy is kind of nice. agile web solutions essentially grabbed me by the throat with this promotion, and they've got a customer for life.

If you'd like to reward early adopters, it might be nice to sell bundle packs of licenses so they can give a few away to their friends - it's a good way of getting your product into the hands of people who otherwise might not even consider it, and makes your early adopter crowd feel loved and appreciated as well :) I know a lot of times I might shell out full price for something on steam for myself, but as soon as it goes on sale, I end up buying four more copies for my friends. With FOG being so reliant on a robust multiplayer community, giving your early adopters a chance to drag other people in at a discount might be a great way to go.

Anyway, just a suggestion - your store, your product, and your rules, so feel free to ignore me :)

so, what's the 20% reduced price? 24.99 usd? or 19.99 usd? and how can we buy it with the discount?

The full price is $24.99, so $19.99 is the discounted price. We'll set it live when we release next week.

I grabbed FoG from Freeverse, as I want to directly support the Mac company for the port. Helps both, but at least they'll view it as a sale through their store. If that makes any sense at all. :)

I believe it is Slitherine/Hexwar that did the Mac version, not Freeverse. No reason not to support Freeverse but Slitherine/Hexwar deserve it as well.

Oh. I guess they're just the NA distributor.
