Another question, following the rule to turn a BG 90°, when you turn a mounted BG 4 bases, 2 ranks, you have the choice, either you are in column, or 2 files 2 ranks face to your former edge...That's clear.
Let's consider you choose the column option, and later in the game...after a move (or not)...you'd like to turn again (left or right)....you're 12 cm depth...so following the rule, only 3 bases will be your new front...so you will be in a, legal...yes...but curious configuration with 3 bases in the front rank and one behind...is it realistic considering the training of most of mounted troops ? A line of 4 bases seems more...let's say...clean !

Perhaps. but it would be more realistic for Horse to stay in the 2 x 2 formation in the first place.

For DH and Cavaliers, well the more manouvreing that occurs the more likely some imperfection of formation is likely to result.
