Slitherine

I have seen several pictures of dragoons and they are all wearing red jackets with blue cuffs and powder bottles. Is this a general Dragoons uniform or would different units have different colours.

I believe those are the NMA Dragoons. Little is known about other dragoon units uniform except that companies of shot were often mounted so would wear the parent unit's uniform. Thus you could have different troops of a dragoons unit in different colours. Remember, the most common coat colours were red, blue and grey.

Osprey shows a dragoon wearing white in one of the plates from their elite series on the ECW. I agree that light grey or red were probably the most common colours but not certain for sure. Pesky little devils if you handle them right.
