Can foot interpenetrate artillery while it is limbered

After perusing the rules it appears it does not say one way or the other, merely states that artillery can be interpenetrated by foot moving straight through from front to back.... looks like a rule writer will have to make a call on that one.

Limbered artillery is still artillery - therefore, it is an allowed interpenetration.

But limbered artillery cannot be rear supported, so the troops behind them are taken as starting their move at their own actual position. They can only pass through if they have sufficient move for their front edge to reach the far side, which is unlikely.
So, in practice, they probably cannot be interpenetrated.

Now that you mention it Richard it is highly unlikely the foot would have the move to make it through the artillery and the limber, so you could not actually make an interpenetration. Perhaps there was some sneaky logic at work there? I had thought it odd that you could move through the limbered stuff, just forgot needing to make it to the far side of the interpenetrated stand.

Thanks Richard. I had forgotten about the move distance
