Keith McGlynn informs me that some of James II's regiments were given regimental guns from 1686.
Any comments on this?
Wikipedia, citing Rogers, H.C.B., Col, Artillery through the ages, Seeley, Service & Co., Ltd, London, 1971
P.45
says "First regimental guns in English service were ordered by King James II in 1686, two 3-pounders for each of the seven regiments (of one battalion each) encamped in Hyde Park"
If the info is good, I could hopefully add them to the list at the proof-reading stage.
