Alan Cutner has asked me to post this.
Scottish League 2011
The Scottish League consists of several one-day singles competitions held through 2011. The first two rounds will be
22nd January (hosted by Dumfries)
27th February (hosted by Perth)
We expect to anounce a further three rounds for 2011 in due course.
Event champions will be declared for each category at each event, based on individuals total scores in the category at the event.
Overall Scottish League champions will be declared for each category that has featured in at least three of the years one-day events. The overall results will be based on the individuals total scores in the category during the year.
Overall club champions will also be declared for each category that has featured in at least three of the years one-day events. A club may nominate upto three players as their team within each category at each one-day event. The composition of the team may vary from one event to another (ie. unlimited substitutions) - but no-one may represent more than one club during the year. The overall club results within a category will be based on the total scores of the clubs nominated players through the year.
Several rules-sets and figure scales will be offered for each one-day event. However the organisers reserve the right to cancel the competition for any category where insufficient entries are received to make it viable.
The rules and scales offered are:
DBM 15mm & 25mm
DBMM 15mm & 25mm
FoG-AM 15mm & 25mm
FoG-R 6mm, 15mm and 25mm
FoW
WAB
NB: Unless specifically authorised by the organisers no player may use an army from the same list at more than one round during the year.
Each round of the Scottish League will consist of two games. The hosts of the event may make the venue available for additional friendly games.
The draw in all games will be done according to the Swiss Chess system. Players accumulated scores during the year will be used when determining the draw. Members of a club team at an event will not be drawn against each other. Where possible club members will not be drawn against each other – but this cannot be guaranteed.
Competition rules and scoring systems will be those published by the BHGS unless stated otherwise by the Scottish League organisers.
Cost will be £8 per round, or £15 if two rounds are booked together.
Admission to the Scottish League is at the sole discretion of the organisers and their decision on all matters is final. By playing in the Scottish League you give the organisers the right to keep information about you and your team. This information will be confidential to the organisers of the Scottish League, except for competition results which will be published as the organisers see fit. An application to enter the Scottish League denotes acceptance of these rules.
