We have been discussing this issue at the local club. Where do you get the direction of rout for a MF unit in two ranks that has enemy to both front and rear. I mention MF as I have seen it said that they have room to turn 90 degrees and rout out one side. My question is why do they do that when there is no angle between two parallel lines to bisect. We have been playing it that they are surrounded and removed as they cannot rout. Are we wrong and if so why?

The two directions of rout are 180 degrees apart (i.e. in opposite directions).
If you bisect an angle of 180 degrees, you get 90 degrees.
