Ho una domanda, presumibilmente per Peter; se creassi un nuovo Army List che non esiste o una variante ad un'Army List esistente, a parte pubblicarlo su Dadi & Piombo che regole devo seguire e come potrei sottoporlo a validazione degli Autori, per usarlo nei tornei?

Quest'idea nasce dal fatto che, dati i miei studi universitari Storico/Archeologici sto collaborando con Sartori per la stesura gli Army List (Extra Impetus 4) del periodo "Classico" (dalle polis Greche a Cesare) che insieme a Bizantini e
"Army List Napoletani" sono la mia specialità.

Chiaramente la grandissima parte degli Army List del periodo esistono già, ma qualcuno (Es. l'esercito epirota del cugino di Alessandro Magno, Alessandro il Molosso) non c'è e vorrei provare ad inserirlo.

io penso che se la mandi agli autori l'army list loro possono risponderti se puo andare bene o no
non ho sentito parlare di altri libri di liste x fog

No altri libri ma hanno detto che in futuro alcune liste extra verranno pubblicate in pdf sul sito

Si ho letto anche io di questa iniziativa e potrebbe essere un'opportunità di migliorare qualche lista fatta in modi un po' "semplicistico".

Primo è necessario da avere una lista x discussione...

For example, in the DBM army lists all of the later Spanish "Christian" medieval armies were covered by one list, "Medieval Spanish and Portuguese". Xavier split this one list into separate lists where the differences were significant enough to mean they should be in separate lists. Medieval Castillian to SHNC being the obvious example - from primarily knights to the dependence on infantry, as well as reorganisation by the state.

So, for writing new lists or revising old ones:

1. Does the evidence you have support the idea there should be either a new list or the list should be split? Reducing complexity is also argument in splitting lists, as well as significant differences between armies. For example, Condotta is one of the more complex lists, but were the armies of the different states significantly different from one another to justify splitting the army list? Are their any significant troops that are missing which should be in the list? (Sorry, but a Faenza list with 100 superior palio players is unlikely to be included )

2. If you are adding new options to an existing list, or proposing significant changes, what is the supporting evidence? For example, again in the Italian Condotta list, I have the impression the minimum number of mercenary men-at-arms is a bit rigid. Did, for example, Florence use significantly more or less? (Just an example, I don't know the answer, but the current list suggests Florentine armies were primarily infantry based.)

3. Classification of troops is, or should be done, relative to their historical opponents, not on personal views or other factors. For example, I think Etruscans should all be superior spear , but relative to their historical opponents they are probably now about right. And it's a much better list than it was in DBM, where, in my view, the classification seemed more based on a bias for Romans always being wonderful, as well as the lies of that terrible propagandist Livy

Also remember revision of army lists is a very slow process, so don't expect acceptance overnight! I wouldn't expect to see new FoGAM lists for several years, if at all. In the DBx world, if I remember correctly, DBM was first published 1993. So if you include DBMM, the army lists are on their third revision. That's an average of every 6 years, not so fast.

c'è la possibilità di presentare una propria lista e di discuterla.
E' essenziale avere un approccio realistico, supportando le proprie argomentazioni così come si fa per presentare ogni nuova idea in un ambiente accademico.
Anni fa (agli inizi di DBM) Phil Barker mi chiese ricerche sugli eserciti Comunali Italiani su cui allora avevano relativamente poche informazioni. Oggi le ricerche in ogni periodo sono molto approfondite e i compilatori delle liste (di solito in team) sono abbastanza ben preparati nel loro campo specifico.
