This game freezes half way through replay - only way out is to ctrl-alt-delete. Can you roll it back a turn - thanks.

Did this work? Maybe we should restart?

Should be rolled back now. Grabbed the turn to try and see what the issue is.

Thanks

I'm encountering the same problem in a mp game with "Villa". We're engaged in Bocage Village and on the replay of Villa's turn, the game freezes. Have shut it down (alt-control-del) and tried it again with the same result at the same point in the replay. What to do? :?

Heya, make note of which game with details in a separate post in this forum

ie.: melnibone v Sleet - Beta 2 Desert Rats - 28 OCT 2010 10:01

and Pip or one of the other moderators will see it and can try and rollback the turn so you can try it again.

good luck,
Sleet

I've been working on updating the replay feedback. It seems that people wander off during turns and leave them running? Or it could be a bug. What happens if you just leave it running for (say) 5 or 10 minutes?

If you can confirm with your opponent that that hasn't happened, then I will check out the game and see what is going on. And roll back if needed.

Cheers

Thanks, Pip.

I did let the replay run for a couple of minutes, cursor was frozen. Task mgr said "BA exe. not responding." This is the first time I've run into this issue. I've left a pm with my opponent, but haven't gotten a response. If you need further details, I'll do my best to provide them.

Are you saying that if you are making a turn, pause in the middle of it to go eat dinner, and then resume, that that may cause this hangup during replay?

Exactly. I had a turn here where (unless, as I say, it's some very odd bug) I guess the person must have gone to bed and come back in the morning. So basically 12 hours of game time needs to be replayed - took a good 9 or 10 minutes on my main machine.

I would just leave it for 5-10 minutes, maybe more if your machine isn't that quick.

This issue is at least obviously fixed in the next update, as it will tell you that it is working its way through the turn.

Cheers

The five minute wait was the solution :) . Thanks very much!
