What would be really useful is....

There are undoubtedly thousands of wargamers around the world waiting eagerly for this set of rules to come out.

So we can all 'hit the ground running' once they're released, could Slitherine release just one sample army list? Or at least tell us how many bases would be needed to form a typical infantry regiment (I understand the game is at regimental as opposed to battalion level) or cavalry unit? Base sizes and the number of figures on each base has already been announced, but does a typical infantry regiment need one, two or more bases?

Surely this wouldn't be too much of a spoiler?

A regiment needs either 4 or 6 bases depending on its size.
Artillery 'units' are 2 or 3 bases (one gun per base)

We use 8 infantry and 3 cavalry (2 for irregulars) on a base.
Depending on the figure size you can use 6 figures on an infantry base. Smaller (in particualer 'old' minifigs) really require 8.

We are looking at 12-15 regiments/batteries in an army for a standard one-off game.

This structure looks like it fits with Lasalle which is very, very encouraging. Encouraging indeed :D

As a latecomer to the forum and being too lazty to 'search' - what is the timescale for release?

If you assume nations such as the French had 2-4 battalions in a Regiment, is the scale of the game 1 base to half a battalion?

As the British didn't use regiments tactically does that mean that we are talking Brigades here and that the 3 british battalions in a brigade is equivalent to the regiment and therefore should have 6 bases?
